I am editing some football films to create a scouting highlight video of a specific player. I am looking for good, affordable software where I can pause a frame, add a graphic like an arrow that points to the player or a circle that circles the player or even better an effect where the highlighted area stays bright and the rest of the frame gets a little darker, then have the video run again. There would be a pause at the start of each play to point out which player you should be watching. Hopefully this type of editing isn’t reserved for high end (expensive and complicated) video editing software. Thanks in advance, proud father of a very good high school player.
I am using a Windows XP computer.
What inexpensive software will allow me to add graphics to the video?

If you have a Macintosh than the best one for you is iMovie HD.
It is usually between $25 and $40.
