Using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, how do I change the background of one of my photos, with another background that I found online.

Example: I have a picture of myself, but I would like to change the background to a wilderness type of background.

Any genuine help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance…

You’ll find the instructions for removing the background in the Learning Center in the Collage section. If the Learning Center isn’t open: View>Palettes>Learning Center. Click on Collage then click on Removing Backgrounds. Paint Shop has the best Background Eraser of any photo editor.

You can find other methods of removing backgrounds in the Help section. Corel products have the best Help sections. Click on Help. Type Remove Backgrounds in the Search box and then click on List Topics.

Once you get that background removed, open the image you want to use as the new background. It’s important the both the original image and this new background image be the same size and resolution but for now we’ll pretend (and pray) that they are;-) Click on the new background image to make it active. Click on Selections up in the Main Menu at the top of the workspace and click on Select All. Now, click on Edit up in the Main Menu and click on Copy. Click on the original image to activate it. Click on Edit again and this time click on Paste as new layer. This new background layer will be on top of the “layers stack”. Click and hold on it and drag it below the original image’s layer (or click and hold on the original image’s layer and drag it on top of the new background. Use the Move Tool to position and the crop tool to crop if you have to.
